Pregnancy and the joy of bringing a newborn baby home is a miraculous experience and these delicate and treasured moments are what I strive to capture in my Fine Art Maternity and Baby Portraits.
The wonderful relationship between a mother and child can be witnessed during the pregnancy, long before your baby is born and I endeavour to document this bond and create something tangible that you will be able to cherish forever, from this unique experience.
The maternity session can take place at our studio, in the comfort of your home, or on location. In most situations I use a mix of natural lighting and studio lighting as this enables me to adjust the shadows and highlights, thereby enhancing the unique lines of a pregnant woman’s body to produce an intimate, timeless work of art.
For a single birth, six to eight weeks and for multiple births, eight to ten weeks prior to your due date is ideal for a maternity session. Partners and children are welcome to join in at the session.
Capturing and documenting babies throughout all their distinctive stages of development allows fleeting moments to become forever moments. From a newborn baby’s first few days of life, when they are fragile and sleepy and their tiny bodies are curled up tightly, to their intent concentration and mischievous smiles as they discover and explore their surroundings, right up to those first few wobbly steps and toothy grins, their faces brimming with excitement and accomplishment. Capturing these milestones with creative and artistic flair, my goal is to create portraits that will be cherished for many years to come.
These sessions are never rushed and cater to the baby’s needs with flexible feeding and changing times. I like to incorporate items that have sentimental meaning and also have a wonderful prop selection at the studio.
Photographs will be edited and processed and photo options include a sequenced and edited story book, mini accordian photobooks, birth announcement cards, fantasy/fairy tale digital art photographs and high quality fine art and canvas prints.
