I am still catching up with my blog posts and am excited to share these photos of beautiful baby Jamie that were taken a while ago. He came for a session at the studio with his mom and gran when he was still a tiny little boy and was so patient and co-operative even back then! I used a backdrop of blue and white ‘onesies’ strung above him and though he may look like he’s sleeping don’t be fooled – he very much wanted to know what was happening around him!

Sweet little Isla

How cute is she? I had a great session with Sharon and Paul and adorable little Isla, who was the picture of happiness throughout the photo session. Loved her little baby legs and her pointed toes – a natural baby ballerina!

Superhero fun in the forest

Remember when you thought the world was yours to conquer and you could do anything at all… I was delighted to do a styled location session at Deer Park for brother and sister Jonny and Olive a few weeks back. I first saw the gorgeous superhero capes and masks at Kamersvol Geskenke and have been wanting to use them in a photo session ever since. Thank you to Emma from Lula by Emma who loaned me the superhero attire for my superhero models. Great fun was had by all, playing and chilling out at the base camp!

I have been neglecting my blog of late as have only had enough time for photo sessions and editing – but will endeavor to catch up and feature my favorite little models over the next few weeks. I am starting off with Flynn da Silva whom I photographed a few weeks ago. I have known his mom and dad for many years and was so happy to document this stage of his life for them. He is such a happy, handsome little fella and was most obliging with his posing! They selected his adorable denim overalls and just love the vibe – edgy bad boy mixed with angelic cherub!

Little Ziya

I was very happy to photograph Sakina, Zeyn and Ziya at their home in Rondebosch recently, despite the fact that it was what felt like one of the hottest days in January so far. Ziya is adorably cute and I must add incredibly patient… how would you like being photographed when its 40 degrees celcius!

I was expecting quaint little streets and as we were starting quite early in the morning I thought it would be quiet – unfortunately it didn’t turn out like that. The ongoing road works had finally reached the village of Kalk Bay and my idyllic old world expectations were replaced with a noisy construction site! Luckily I was with the Momberg family and I had a great time photographing Mila, Dylan, Rachelle, Jannie and Grandma (who made a brief appearance) despite the dismal location!

I was first in contact with Umar in December last year when he bought a gift voucher for a maternity session for his wife Thania and his daughter Daria, who was at that stage still in Thania’s belly… and after some consideration they decided to wait until little Daria was born. Well here she finally is and she was well worth the wait!

I photographed Alex for her 14′th Birthday – a gift from her Mom Cindy and was immediately so impressed that Alex chose a session as her birthday present. I wish I had photos of myself when I was 14 years old and this is what I love about photography, capturing a moment in time but knowing that the photographs will be treasured for many years to come! Alex was joined by her friends Jenna and Alexis and I had a great time photographing them at Groot Constantia…

During the winter ‘heatwave’ we had recently, I photographed the extended Snijders family at the Camps Bay tidal pool. Marelise told me that she gets all the cousins together every year and I was very happy to photograph such an adorable group of kids… and adults too!

How adorable is Ella! I had a great time photographing the Farrells a few weeks back and Ella with her magic wand casts a spell over everyone she meets – we started off in Cape Town city centre and wandered around the top end of Bree and Long Streets and then we went to the Green Point Biodiversity Park where Ella was oh so happy to play in the mud!

My mother told me that when my sisters and I were born, she made a wish for our guardian angels to always protect us and look after us – but I think that we were fortunate enough to already be cradled in the arms of our guardian angel, my beautiful mother. A weekend in the countryside
